Hello and welcome! It was time for a change. Not a big change, just a fresh new website where we can continue to document this journey of ours. For those far away, who we miss (and who just might miss us too) but also for anyone who might want to indulge in a little armchair travel. We are happy to oblige.
It has been 4 and a half years since we left Seattle, a year and a half since our move from Denmark to the UK and we have thoroughly enjoyed our new surroundings. The past year was full of remarkable experiences. So full in fact, that many went amiss on our old site and I will not be able to recap it all. However, over the coming months, as we wait for the days to get longer, I hope to include a few “throwbacks” from some of our 2015 escapades. It would be a shame not to properly document our first year in the UK, not to mention some of the other places we visited.
Before we know it, 2016 will be rolling along at full speed. I’ve never been very good at resolutions, as it all starts to feel a bit trivial when so many things in the world have become so messy. Whenever I get right down to it, I feel so very blessed.
We spent New Year’s Eve at home – just the four of us – playing a board game and eating ice cream. We watched old home movies of the ridiculous display of fireworks that took place outside our Copenhagen apartment over the years. The girls went to bed at 10pm and then Brett and I stayed up and watched the London fireworks on TV. As the sky illuminated behind Big Ben, along London’s South Bank, we commented on the different landmarks we recognized and places where we have frequently strolled. It wasn’t just a fireworks display in a magnificent city, behind an iconic backdrop…it was home. That is something we are still trying to get our heads around.
Please stay a while and have a look around. If you want to receive updates, please subscribe.
May 2016 bring all good things to the world.
